FAQ

 Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the Summer Camp?

It is really simple! All you have to do is apply on this link: https://www.llinstitute.com/lli-summer-program-2023/

If Summer Program cancels, can I be refunded?

Yes. We will refund all but the registration fee through the method it was paid. The registration fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable. No refunds are available if a participant attends any part of a week.

What kind of supervision is provided during the Summer Camp?

During every trip, the students are accompanied by LLI teachers and chaperones. On their free time students have the freedom to go out and do what they please around the city. Part of the experience is having the opportunity to have independency in a safe place. It is part of the adventure being able to explore the city and go to different places with your news friends from all over the world.

Can I participate in the Summer Program even if I don't speak English?

Yes, you can! However, it is important to have a basic knowledge of the language prior to the Program so you can enjoy it thoroughly.

Where will I be staying during Summer Camp? Are meals included?

All of our Summer Program students have the opportunity to stay with a local family as a house guest. You’ll enjoy living as part of the family, sharing meals, and experiencing a typical Canadian lifestyle. Many parents find it very reassuring that their children will be safe with a family in Canada rather than staying in rented or student accommodation. The three main meals of the day are included in the program: breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you are free to eat out and explore the different cuisines that we have around London.

How long do I need to apply for the visa?

If you require a visa to enter Canada, we strongly suggest you apply for your visa at least 4 months in advance. This is so there is time for your application to be processed and issued before your LLI Summer Vacation program begins. Please note that depending on the country of origin the time for your visa to be approved can take even longer. If you already have an American visa or an European passport, all you need is an eTA (electronic travel authorization). This normally takes one day to be approved at the latest.

What are the requirements for Summer Camp?

You must be at least 14 years old and be ready to have the time of your life!

When it comes to English level, we advise you to have at least a basic knowledge so you can really take the opportunity to advance your skills and enjoy every minute of this amazing experience.

How much money will i need to bring?

This depends a lot on your personal budget. Keep in mind that your meals are included in the program, but the students often want to try new restaurants and go to different places. We suggest bringing at least $700 (for the 4 weeks) in order to be able to take advantage of all London has to offer.

Can I do other activities on my own during the program period?

Yes, you can! We encourage students to do so, and we have a booklet guide that you can check for all different activities to do around London.

Will I receive a confirmation if I register online?

Yes, you will. Once you apply for the program, you will receive an email with the Letter of Acceptance and invoice. You also can contact us at any time through the email: [email protected] or [email protected].

What should I do if my visa is refused?

If you are refused a visa, and this is confirmed to us in writing by May 15, 2023, you will receive a full refund (minus the $150 registration fee; $50 Custodian Document). If you are refused a visa after May 30, 2023, we will defer you to the Summer Vacation Program in 2024. No refunds will be issued after May 30, 2023. If there is a delay in getting your visa approval, we will defer our application to the Summer Vacation program for 2024. No refund will be issued.

Do I have health insurance included during the program?

Students are responsible for arranging their own medical insurance before traveling to Canada. Alternatively, LLI can arrange insurance if required.
